In 2017, we set out to build a better way to store large volumes of data. At the time, we were testing configurations using off the shelf products, but no matter how we built it, we kept hitting the same limits, too much power draw, too much heat, and too little usable density.


Reimagining Storage from the Ground Up
Led by Novodisq Founder Graham Gaylard, our team looked at how storage infrastructure works at every level, and designed a new architecture from the ground up.
Starting from a Blank Sheet
To solve these problems, we stepped back and started again. Working outside the constraints of conventional systems, we developed a new hardware architecture focused on extreme density, low power, and modular scale.

Existing drives couldn’t handle the configurations we were designing, so we built our own. This level of control is essential for large scale deployments and edge use cases where reliability, automation, and flexibility matter.
Quiet, Cool,

Typical high-density systems generate heat, need mechanical cooling, and draw large amounts of power. Novoblade does the opposite. Each blade draws as little as 10W idle, with full systems running up to 95% more efficiently than comparable storage platforms.
